SNI has partnered with a reputable manufacturing company near Waterbury who is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing team.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze current manufacturing state and develop action plans using Lean techniques to drive faster changeovers, reduce errors, standardize processes, decrease downtime, and increase OEE.
- Manage Continuous Improvement Projects, lead initiatives, provide updates, set goals, establish priorities, and manage project resources.
- Utilize Lean principles to design and implement new manufacturing processes, methodologies, and equipment layouts to enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
- Evaluate plant performance relative to goals and adjust action plans accordingly.
- Possess a strong understanding of Lean principles, Manufacturing, and Injection Molding floor operations.
- Analyze process flow and value stream layouts, offering recommendations for improvement.
- Identify and implement modifications to enhance efficiencies and overall plant performance.
- Optimize manufacturing processes and equipment, including addressing product non-conformance and root cause analysis.
- Support the development and improvement of Technical Operating Instructions.
- Design and implement new manufacturing processes and equipment, including documentation and training.
- Support new automation initiatives and provide lead support post-launch.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing.
- 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Six Sigma training and experience.
- Ownership and accountability for areas of responsibility.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to develop and manage project timelines and budgets.
- Experience with plastic injection molding.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Solidworks.
- Experience with automation projects and PLC programming is a plus.
